Nope, not related to a timber company.

How do co-captains log time in corporate operators requiring a PIC and SIC? If both pilots are type-rated, who logs the PIC time?

What if both captains are type-rated and qualified as captain for the insurance company? Who logs PIC? Does it go back to who "signs for the aircraft"?

I am in this situation a lot. I only log PIC when my name is on the flight plan as the PIC.

At my company, we swap seats each leg. Flying pilot sits in left seat and logs PIC.

That would be the pilot assigned as the PIC by dispatch.

Same here. I only log PIC when I sit in the left seat, and log SIC in the right seat.

I log PIC only when I'm the designated PIC on the company's flight log. I log SIC when designated co-captain.

Not all companies use a dispatcher... we chose the PIC by coin toss (at least for the first flight of each trip).

This is the way I understand it as accepted by most airlines when interviewing.

What an airline accepts as PIC has absolutely nothing to do with whether you can or can not log PIC in an aircraft. The regs are very clear on when you can and can not log....read it, don't rely on these CFI's who are building time inappropriately.

Excuse me. This is the way the airlines accept PIC as defined by FAR's

I have yet to meet anyone in corportate who cared one bit how you logged PIC time.

Log what you want, you are not fooling anyone!

To make it simple, I log PIC when I am dispatched as PIC. Not "dispatched"..well, who filed the flight plan and gave them his/her name as the pilot? thats your PIC.

Actually airlines only want the time you are responsible for the aircraft (ie not time when you're pilot-flying but technically SIC, even though that is legal to log per FARs).
