I have an interview with CFM soon and I would really appreciate some insight on their operations. Especially the J-31 charter side. Also any J-31 comments would be helpful. I know some old ACA guys said the thing can be a handful.
Hey there FOB, things at CFM are really strong. We have several shuttle contracts and of course the straight charter. Great place to build time (at least 70 hrs a month). Think we have five 31s and two 32s, three lear 35, a diamond jet and and a Lr 45.
Just be your self at the interview, oh, now much time off but the pilot group ar good folks, you will enjoy flying with them.
It takes some getting use to in flying the jet stream but I am sure you can handle.
That is good news to hear. I just interviewed and feel it went very well. I had a very nice visit, tour, and liked what I saw. I will know Friday either way. Wish me luck!
A happy pilot group is what I am after and no politics like what the regionals are doing. I think/hope CFM can deliver that.
Climbed in a couple of the J-31s. It is a respectable ride. Nice front office and I dig the corporate layout. What is their training program like if you don't mind?
The training program is OK, two weeks including indoc and flight training is another week or two depending on instructor availability. There are some great intructors who will help you as long as you show some genuine interest.
Have a good friend who's looking for a job, 5000 hours and typed in the J31, flew for Trans States before they phased it out, does CFM hire street captains? Thanks in advance.
Thank you to those who responded. Unfortunately, the position I wanted went to a more appropriately seasoned fella. Rightfully so, but still a bummer. Dave was very cool and did offer dibs on the next available seat. Until then... here's hoping ACA calls me back or CFM starts flying CRJs.
