I need any and all info on Chris Eden, Corpjet, Baltimore Air Transport and their newest incarnation as Midline Air Freight.
Corpjet has recently moved to my home airport OWB KY, operating as Midline Air Freight a company that used to operate cargo only out of Springfield, KY, who they acquired along with their certificate about 1 year ago. They don't yet appear to be operating out of OWB but they have made representations in the local newspaper that they are a charter outfit with several cargo only aircraft and two 19 seat turboprops, a Citation II and a Hawker 800 available for charter. Yet their certificate issued by the Louisville FSDO only authorizes operations in 2 caravans - a B55 and a C310. I understand they may also be operating in the PHX area, but I don't know under what certificate if any they may be using there.
I am a pilot for MidAmericajet, a 135 charter outfit based at OWB under the threat of going under because of a legal dispute over our lease with the airport board. Our owner died earlier this year and the executor of his estate is trying to sell the company, but one prospective buyer has already been chased off by the airport boards threat of legal action over our lease. The same airport board is crowing about having secured Corpjet/Midline Air Freight as a new tenant largely because of their contracts with UPS, WSJ and NYT and their abiility to offer the charter and FBO services we currently provide.
I have been unable to verify if Corpjet still has any UPS, WSJ or NYT contracts. But by looking up the tail numbers on still current Corpjet/Baltimore Air Transport listings online http://www.rsvpair.com/viewOperator/150.html and using FlightAware.com I have established that many of those tail numbers are still operating out of RYY. Including 3 caravans which appear to be operating regular routes out of RYY, their previous base under the certificate of Baltimore Air Transport a certificate that I understand was surrendered early this year.
A Citation II (N100HB), KingAir 200 (N56AP) and Hawker 800 (N803GE) listed at the above website are also still operating out of RYY but I don't know if these aircraft are authorized under any certificate for 135 operations.
I would be grateful if anyone could provide any information at all that would flesh out the background of this company, as it would appear they and their owner Chris Eden have a somewhat troubled history with the FAA, leading me to believe they are not the company they themselves and the airport board are making them out to be. I have spoken to both Atlanta and Louisville FSDO's and there appears to be a turf battle in progress with Atlanta gung-ho to nail Corpjet alleging unauthorized 135 ops. but Louisville is being a good deal more circumspect.
Sorry for the long post.
Thanks in advance.
