when it comes to having your (is it about 4-6 sorties a month around 8 days commitment?) guard duty and your day job, how do you get them not to conflict. If I was in the guard I know I would want to drop everything in order to hang around and fly in the unit as much as they would let me. Do most of you guys have airline or charter jobs for a day job? Im just wondering how it works, if the guard tells you when you fly or if you pick sorties and how far in advance? I know employeres cant fire you for getting deployed, but doesnt that make it hard getting hired for a day job when they know you're GOING to have to go somewhere for a period of time eventually.
