When a contract pilot is used,do most companies pay the prevailing rate for equipment being flown, plus per diem or reimbursement of expenses for travel hotel, meals, ect? Or is the contract pilot generally expected to pay for their own expenses while on the road? What's the consensus.

Youre there for them. They pay. Ive always charged a day rate. Then I add mileage, meals, and other expenses. Contracting is awesome. From what Ive seen thats pretty standard.

I agree with the above... All expenses plus daily rate.. That includes non flying days as well... Contracting is great untill you have to pay for your own recurrent..
