Can I get some ideas on what ya'll think a good contract caravan day rate in the South Texas/Houston area would be?

Also, I was supposed to do a another flight this morning in it and they called just as I was leaving to the airport and cancelled the flight. I am not upset about it, but I did have other jobs I could have done, but I do feel like I should be compensated. What is industry standard for charging for cancelled trips at the last moment?

Thanks!

Bump...Anyone? Doesn't have to be location specific Thanks!

In my experience operators that cancel trips at the last second won't pay for a last minute cancellation. If they were respectable they would have offered to pay the day (or some reasonable deal) when they called to cancel.

I don't think that these guys are not respectable. I just need some ball park figures. They seem like nice, genuine and decent folks. Anyone else?

You should be paid for in full for the trip, for a caravan I would think somewhere in the $300-400 range would be appropriate.

While I am not sure on the daily rate for the 208 the above poster seems fair in the 3-400 range. I would submit the bill for the entire time you committed to them. We pay our contract guys higher than standard rate and pay for cx's trips like that why.... because we might like to use them again in the future.
I have been burned before by turning downs trips for a commitment then having a guy bail out on it.

Cool thanks for the news guys..I was thinking about $350.

I think they are relatively new to the aviation business. Since this is my first trip for them, I included a note in my invoice that its industry standard to pay full price for a same day canceled trip, but that I wasn't charging them for it this time because they had treated me well and I didn't feel right charging it this time. (Maybe they will be good guys and pay it anyways)

Next time it will be a different story. I haven't done much contract work...I need a disclaimer from the start!

So you were doing a trip for them that day and had not discussed your fee?

Should have sent them a bigger bill!! :)
