You have to be either lucky or senior to get a check airman's line in order to get FBO'd. I did it but had mixed results as a IAH FO, seniority 100-200. All hubs have check airmen lines you can bid for. The only thing you have to remember is that when training slows down, the FBO opportunities will also.
