Every time I see the words "computer logbook" I just can't resist tossing my $.02 in.
I take a dim view of these programs after having been badly burned on PCAviator -- an absolutely buggy, totally unreliable program, easily the worst thing I've ever installed on my computer (a PC). I don't believe it's available for Macs, but if it is -- steer clear!
What I ended up doing was importing the files (stored in MS Access format, fortunately) into Access 2000. Because of the complexity of generating reports in Access, I ultimately ended up moving them into the much simpler MS Works database. That arrangement works beautifully.
So my recommendation is this: You don't really need one of these overpriced commercially prepared "logbooks". If you can acquire even some basic database skills, you can create your own. I'm no database wiz, that's for sure. But using Works I can crank out good looking reports that put PCAviator (or POS Aviator, as I call it) to shame!
