What is the criteria for upgrade at Compass? Is it seniority or time? If it is time, what are the minimums?

What gave you the idea that compasss upgrades are time related??? Just curious.

It is seniority.

Seems most regionals are short captains and have to start looking down the seniority lists to find their captains. I assumed Compass was no exception.

LOL, touchy aren't we?

For now, CPS is an exception. There are a couple people here hired recently that don't have ATP minimums. For the most part, new hires here have had quite a bit of time. One recent class averaged out to 3,800 hr. Those in that class will be right on the edge of making Captain by the end of 08 when the current order is completed. I realize that the prospect of a quick upgrade is now gone and the time will drop. I don't see CA going past #200 or so at the end of 2008.

The current upgrade minimums here are:
2500tt/1000me; 2000tt/1500me.

One thing to consider is that our CBA requires all new hire pilots to receive a "Captain type rating" upon completion of first officer training.

How would NWA's flow-back impact upgrade times at Compass? It could happen - something to consider...

Don't let MJ42 read that! His panties will start twisting in a second.

That plus the fact that NWA is Cx'ing new hire classes.

Just a small update. Last weeks class 4 people Seniority 210-214
2 Skyways CA's
1 Navy
1 former IDE CA

Average time about 3000 hours.
expected number of captains including management etc about 220 +/- 10.
Some minor attrition.
Another person said Next class has at least some Skyways and Big Sky folks. According to a CP They plan to stick to the ATP mins because there are enough qualified pilots out there for now.

Guys just wondering, I was hired oct 26(about 125 sen. wise), would I have been upgraded already? Didn't stay that long and moved on to a better gig, I was just wondering

Ahhh, OK....I get what you were asking now. I thought you were asking if they only upgrade with time and does not look at seniroity.
