I was offered a class date of Nov 16th. I interviewed the first week of October.

Does any one know the type of trips the line pilots are getting.

3, 4, or 5 day trips?

commutable? start or finish times.

productive?

I know there are only a few aircraft so far. Just curious as I am a commuter.

I have not made the decision to take the job yet.

Thanks.

I have no idea what the trips are right now at Compass, but whatever they are now they will certainly not be the same when you come on line. A company with four airplanes operates completely different than a company with 36 airplanes.

If you are concerned with commuting I suggest you check the schedule between your airport and MSP and DTW. If there is one flight per day you will be miserable no matter what the schedules are.

Do you commute now? I have about the easiest commute possible and it still sucks. I'm planning on going to Compass so I don't have to commute. If you don't commute talk to some commuters to get an idea what you're getting into.

Good luck with your decision.

I'd ditto what the last guy said.

I've talked to the CP and he's stated the company wants to build highly productive trips...so if that comes true, then at least the days off will be high.

It's anyone's guess about building some commutable lines. Many of the guys they have hired are from MSP, so I'd think commuatable lines would be a low priority item but that is all speculation.

How does Compass notify canidates of acceptance or rejection after the interview? I received a letter through taleo today, the company that Compass uses for the application, and it states,

"Thank you for submitting your resume to Compass Airlines for
consideration.

We are fortunate to have many qualified candidates apply to each of our
positions. We have reviewed the qualifications of each candidate and
after careful consideration, we have determined that the credentials of
other candidates may better fit our needs at this time."

I did refresh my application right before the interview so Im not sure if they pulled it back up or what. If its a rejection letter it just seems weird how it talks about thanks for submitting your resume. Also my qualifications are right up there with everyone they are currently hiring. I thought that Craig either snail mailed the rejection or emailed the good news. Any info is appreciated.

The CP there is a tool.
I was offer an interview there and turned it down when I found out he was the CP (among other reasons). I use to work for him when he was an ACP at Indy.

You do realize that the CP and management can tell you whatever you want to hear with no repercussions, right?

Why wouldn't they tell you that the lines are going to be great, the pay will get better, etc?

I hope the best for all involved with Compass, but for crying out loud don't fall for the same song and dance that has hurt our profession for decades.

I've been around the block and know the game too well to have the wool pulled over my eyes.

Can someone please tell me the training process there? How long is the initial training in MSP (including the orientation)? Is there some cheap place to stay in MSP during these days? Do I need a car? When do new hires have travel benefit on the NWA?
Thanks

THAT, my friend, is a standard REJECTION letter (a.k.a. eat $hit and die letter) that is used industry wide as well as at colleges, other industries, etc. You DIDN'T get the job.

Don't sugar-coat it, CRJ Puppy ;)

Yeah sounds like the standard rejection letter these days...the one that basically says "You don't suck that bad, please don't bring a gun here and shoot everybody...

MSP is Monday - Thursday for one week. Extended stay america is about 60 a night and they shuttle you to Pan Am so no need for a car. Its where the FA stay.

Pass travel day one (it takes a week or so to get you in the system though)

can someone please tell me the medical process? I understand that they need to take the blood sample, therefore require fast for 12 hr., but why do they want people to bring exercise clothing? Is that just a normal FAA first class medical?

Thanks

No blood sample...the medical is nothing more than a first class medical with an ECG for everyone.

The exercise clothing is if things are a little off on the ECG...then you might have to jump on the treadmill. Hardly anyone has to do it.

Lemme get this straight. I have to pay for my way back to MSP to get the medical done. Then if I pass the medical and I'm hired, I have to buy my own hotel for a few weeks of training? Hmm... :erm:

You would only have to pay for 4 or 5 days total for hotel...come for one day to pick up your initial materials, then leave for 30 days home study via internet/cd's anywhere in the country you want to go...then you come back for 4 days and finish up ground school before being shipped(company paid positive space) to Montreal for fully paid hotel up there.

But, transportation to/from MN during MN ground training is on your own dime, since it is considered your domicile.

Dont worry. It will all be over soon probally right before your 30th month of seniority. Your just going to get stapled to the bottom of our list at XJ anyways. I wouldn't worry about it too much and no FLOW for 30 months. Who wants to stay at an upstart regional for 30 months and get their teeth kicked in by BIG DADDY NW. Have Fun...

*Sigh* Was that really necessary? We're all red-tailed stepchildren here, we'd do well to keep an eye on our common enemy (Steenland & Co) rather than flinging poo at each other.
