One of the very best corporate flying jobs in South Texas is going away, and I am looking for work again. I am requesting information on the following corporate flight departments: Shell, Apache, Waste Management, Exxon.
I am requesting info to include quality of life, pay, benefits, turn over rates of pilots etc.
I am current in the Hawker 800XP, Honeywell and typed in the following: DA2000, GIV, N265, CE650. We are being told the time line for closing this flight department is last quarter or first quarter of next year. The airplane will be put up for sale sometime this winter.

Sincerely,

SouthernPilot

sorry that you are losing your great job. at least you have time on your side at this point. when that happened to me in '85 it wasn't quite as boomtown in corp aviation. they giving good severance etc? that can really ease the pain. good luck.

Best of luck. I don't have any helpful knowledge for you, but if I come across anything I'll get it to you.

Let us know how it goes.

The Hawker type is pretty popular. Ever consider fractional? Netjets is hiring if that is of interest.

Many times closing flight departments will buy you a new type rating as part of a severance package.

TWO for instance, gave their GIII pilots a G-IV transition when they sold their GIII. Ford gave their G-IV only director a GV transition when he left. Perhaps you could convince your "powers that be" that such a move to enhance your marketability would be warranted.

At least make sure that you go through recurrent at the latest possible date prior to department closure. R.J. Reynolds actually sent their G-IV pilots through recurrent after the flight department closed.

Jetsource in CRQ is looking for a 650 Capt and CL300 Capt. Pay on the 650 is around 75K I am sure it is not what you were making but I do believe that they just put a GIV on the certificate.

Also check http://www.tmcjets.com/

They are looking for BE400 guys currently but they also have a few hawkers and do not require relocation.

Sorry to hear about your job good luck
