hey i was just wondering what you commuter folks at express jet think about the lines. are they commutable? start late and finish early? is your normal schedule pretty much 4 on 3 off? thanks

Like any other airline seniority plays a big role on your schedule. IAH lines are more commutable than EWR. I typically work three or four day trips with three or four days off in between with a mix of commutable lines through trip trading.

Yep...

I think its safe to say the IAH has the most commutable lines. Even when I was pretty junior I was able to pretty much get whatever I wanted as far as start times.

It depends where you want to commute from. I commute from SAT to IAH, bid about 1/2 of FO senority list and I've havn't had to spend a night in IAH in over 5 months. If your commuting from DEN or SEA that wont happen for you.

Not true. I'm a DEN commuter, and in the last 16 months between relief and hard lines I have spent the night in IAH less than 5 times. Twice was voluntary because I wanted to fly a specific trip. If I didn't want to spend the night in IAH I wouldn't of had to. Recurrent and PC's being exempt. Being in EWR was a different story.

I commute from Seattle and although now I'm in the top 30% on the F/O side my first month as a line holder holding a relief line I was able to get all commutable trips, infact I've only bought hotels due to recurent and I need a show-time after 1400 to make it to work.
