I am the bottom Capt in Atlanta for October. I am not fond of crash pads. Can anyone recommend a good hotel for a commuter? Preferably one with free breakfast and that won't charge me for nights I don't use.
The hotels on the south side are cheaper than the hotels on the north side. A very popular one is the quality inn. Free breakfast, decent rooms, and across the street from the Whyndam (slightly more) which has an on site bar/grill. Walking around this area is discouraged.
Have heard Quality is ok, but not in the safest area in my opinion, which is on Old National Hwy, not the safest area even in daylight hours. That's why I use HIExp and /or Sleep Inn, safer areas.
The area is OK during the day. After dark, you're expressly advised to stay inside.
Btw, there is a decent Thai restaurant off of Old National Hwy that will deliver to most south-side hotels, including the Sheraton Gateway. I don't have the name, but the front desk clerks usually have their menu.
Tell 'em "Thai Ty" sent ya.
The girls walking up and down old national parkway are very friendly)
Used to stay at the QI until the lady at the desk working the midnight shift started letting hookers and pimps to the "secure" third floor.
