TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - A twin-engine Lear jet crashed Tuesday in a nature preserve, killing three people on board, the State Highway Patrol said.
The plane was trying to land at Toledo Express Airport when it crashed and caught fire about 2 p.m., patrol dispatcher Bob Brehm said. He did not know how many people were on board.
Firefighters were still trying to extinguish the flames an hour-and-a-half later.
The plane went down in a remote area of the Oak Openings Preserve MetroPark, Toledo Metroparks spokesman Scott Carpenter said. There are no shelter houses or parking lots in that area of the 3,500-acre nature preserve.

I just called my office, and all our planes are accounted for.

Prayers for the families.

Hi!

The weather was crappy in Toledo-I don't know exactly how bad it was. The above link is to a thread in the "Cargo" section.

Here is a link to the same subject matter also in the "General" section:

Bad day...

I was in Toledo at the Holiday Inn in Maumee when it happened. It was cold, cloudy, rainy at times, but not a bad IFR day. I'm sorry for the loss for the families involved and in the other hand I'm glad the guys in STL, that went in the river are alive. The Capt. of that flight, Iqball, is a very nice guy who jumpseats with us regularly out of Houston. My prayers are with them and their families.
