Hey,

Just wondering if anyone else has received a call from Amy at Commute. She said she was just gathering info at this point.
However she asked about five questions.which were have you had any speeding tickets in the last 10 years. If so, how many?
Is that normal or was I just passed up for an interview because I have had three tickets over the past 10 years ago.

Thanks

I know of at least one other person that was passed over for an interview at Commutair due to a speeding ticket in the past 10 yrs. Remember, it is an employer's market out there right now and they can be as pickey as they want to.

CRJ Puppy,

While I don't know your friend, I can guarantee that his one speeding ticket in the last 10 years was NOT the reason for him not getting an interview. CommutAir hires "real" people; and "real" people get speeding tickets, period. If you knew our pilot group, you would understand. I'm not casting judgement on your friend, but there may have been something else that Amy didn't like from the phone interview. A speeding ticket may break the deal if the person is a big tool to begin with, but that alone would not do it.

Skysharke,

Hang in there. They just announced another new hire and upgrade class for May. 12 new-hires and 6 upgrades. This makes me think that they know something that we don't (big surprise!).

Not to be a total Jerk, but you were probably passed over because you can't spell the name of the company that your trying to get hired at....IT's CommutAir. No "e"

Just my 2 cent's (I'd offer more but its a few days till pay day)

In the past the call from Amy at Commutair has generally been to schedule an interview. The questions are asked and if the responses are favorable, they'll schedule the interview right there on the phone. If the responses are not what they are looking for, she'll say that she is just conducting a phone screening to gather more info and they will phone back to schedule if they choose to.
Unfortunately, if you dont get the interview then and there, the chances that they will phone back are slim. They look for clean driving records. That's just something that is important to them.
Clean driving record and good pass rate on checkrides.
Just a little FYI

That sounds right. They called me today and asked me those very same questions. Negative on any tickets in the last 10 years for me, but affirmative on 1 failed checkride (CFI Initial--what else?). When she was done she invited me to interview.
