Big surprise...after several months training at a 141 school towards my commercial rating, the school tells me I need more ground training as they are changing the program. All I have left to do is take the final ride.

I'm sick of the hoops! Has anyone switched from a 141 school
to a part 61 for your commercial and if so, what was your experience? Sure, I'll have to pony up for another 50-60 hours
of flight time, but the thought of giving that place another dime...ugh.

I was thinking I might want to work at this place when I started, but it seems to be rife with all the office/political BS of the career I'm slowly pulling out of.

Your thoughts are kindly appreciated.

Get it done

the school tells me I need more ground training as they are changing the program. All I have left to do is take the final ride.

What is this extra ground training? If you only have your commercial checkride to go, then presumably you already have your FAA Comm ground test in hand?

I'd get the job done at the 141 place .... no point in cutting nose off to spite face etc.

Seconded

It happens. Schools change TCOs (Training Course Outline) very frequently. You're just about done. The big picture is far more important, i.e. getting a job at the place upon graduation. You need that opportunity. You've invested in that opportunity. Therefore, don't worry about it, do it, say the right things, and get the job. Getting a flying job and flying upon graduation is far more important these days than quibbling over more ground time. You won't stay there forever.

Besides, paying for 60 more hours of flight time might cost you more than for the extra ground time.

Please, take my .02 advice. Good luck with your decision.
