United has had channel 9 for as long as I can remember...anyone remember on AA DC-10's (In the 80's) how they displayed the takeoff and landing on the video screens in each section?

Don't mess up your radio calls, everyone in the back will be listening someday...

Or today...just like they already are. Thanks for the tip or rather relaying information.

Somebody told me that the American DC-10 that rolled over on its back and crashed after takeoff had the screens on at the time.

Nobody knows, it was conjecture by the attornies representing the victim's estates to get punitive damages for mental pain & suffering...woulda been pretty horrific to watch but only for a few seconds.

It happened so fast probably no one really knew what was happening other than something was out of the ordinary. Imagine the people on the left side that got to watch the engine sail over the wing...

Huh, I can remember listening to flight deck comms as a kid on Continental...72's I think (might be showing my age, but late 70's/early 80's)...through those 'fisher-price-stethoscope-lookin-things'.
