Does anubody know what the pilots of the LEX-ATL were scheduled for the day before and how much rest they got the night before?

Seem to me that fatigue likely played a role in the mistake.

The FO worked a 14:40 duty day Friday, ferried in JFK-LEX, released from duty at 0200. 27 hrs of rest, but might have been very difficult to get to sleep Sat. night after being awake until at least 0300 the night before.

The CA deadheaded in Sat. afternoon. He was CVG based and on reserve. That, in itself, tells me he had been working very hard. Pure speculation, but if he released in LEX that early, my guess is he was on a very early reserve window. We have a 0000-1400, 0400-1800, 0600-2000, 0800-2200, etc.

Again, both had more than adequate rest the previous night, but I am very curious to get a look at their circadian patterns for the preceding few days. Lots of duty and irregular rest times fatigue me much more than one short night at a time I am used to being asleep.
