Boy am I going to "get it" for THIS one.

Obviously I didn't read your post correctly. No need to be mean. :D

Why Cheer?

Every time you fly a former mainline route its another nail in the coffin of a former well paying job.

You know being the best paid regional is still like winning the special olyimpics, it may feel good, but you are still retarded.

If we as 50 seat flyers fly mainline for a pittance, guess who has the last laugh, management.

HoursHore,

Gosh, you're, like, SO right.

I keep forgetting that we tell DAL which routes we're going to steal from mainline on any particular month. It must drive them nuts, not knowing which prime markets we might plunder next.

I can only hope we don't get drunk with power...

Hey Hore :

Apparently you forgot your history. Comair's MEC made a petition at the 2000 ALPA Board of Director's meeting to properly merge with mainline returning all this flying to mainline. Delta's MEC Chairman lied in the open about the lack of operational integration and behind closed doors threatened to take Delta out of ALPA if the Comair and ASA MEC's petition were granted.

There is a reason why this flying is being performed outside of mainline for sub-mainline wages... That reason is the Delta MEC.

One reason to cheer is that every regional pilot hired is another vote. Eventually the regional guys will have the votes to make the union follow its own Constitution and do something about all this alter ego flying that you complain about.

Actually, every time mainline pilots take another pay or work rule concession, it is another nail in the coffin of good paying mainline jobs.

Every time you take a job at an LCC, it is another nail in the coffin of good paying mainline jobs.

Give me a break you retard.

It always amazes me how people can take one little bit of news and turn it into a fighting match against each pilot group. When is everyone going to realize that as long as the infighting continues between the pilot groups mother delta is winning. Don't you think it would be served better aiming it towards mother delta......Obviously the common sense that most people have doesn't apply to pilots, because if it did, those of you who think that the numbers (yes, I did say numbers, because like at every other airline to include Comair, the pilots are a bunch of numbers) are responsible for managements decisions should take an evening business 101 class to understand how a business works. The management doesn't loose sleep over our *itches, now the shareholders YES!!!!!! All you mainline guys think your better than the regional guys, we'll if you really are, then why don't you start acting like you have a degree in something and realize this basic business 101 concept and quit blamming everyone else for the decisions of management. In the words of Rodney King, "Can't we all just get along......"

(By the way, actually the downsize in aircraft between SLC-SEA actually affects me greatly since I travel SLC-SEA many times a month...)

PS...I realize that there are those of you who have nothing better to do than to pick apart my paragraph for gramatical/spelling mistakes...so, keep in mind, I've never claimed to be an English major......

PPS...Hey Hourshore, I notice you flew the T-1, were you a FAIP by chance?
