geez thats gonna be a painfully LOOONNNNG flight.

Anything longer than 2 hours in a CRJ is cruel and unusual punishment for the paying customers.

It is a long time to be crammed in an RJ though it's not even close to being DL's longest RJ flight.

For a route like this, I don't necessarily think plane comfort is all that important. When you're hauling a bunch of half drunk 19 yr old's who bought their tickets through a discount consolidator, I doubt they care that much about first class upgrades. Also, using the CR7 allows DL to operate the route daily whereas right now mainline DL only flys it on Saturdays.

The downside is that DL mainline will no longer fly the route on Saturdays. Even DL admits that a mainline plane would be more efficient on Saturdays, but the aviation treaty between the US and Mexico only allows two carriers to be designated on a particular route (USA3000 hold the other CVG-CUN designation).

So, who's taking bids on how long they fly the route before some crew breaks their airplane at MMUN and has to spend a day or two on the beach until they can fly in parts and mechs?

:)
