heard rumor (and this is the place to spread those) that no one wants to buy Comair for what the assets are worth, and thus when Delta trim all that RJ flyin in the fall... most of it is mainly coming out of Comair.... profitable CVG flying will be filled by RFPs....

Heard from a friend of mine, a reliable source, that you are a moron.

Have not heard that one. However, I heard a few Comair rumors. First, we are picking up most of the Freedom flying out of JFK. Second, if/when Mesa goes bankrupt, we will be getting all 14 of their CRJ-900 which are owned by Delta, and third, we are bidding on a United RFP out of ORD with a strong possibility that we might get some of it.

All just rumors.

Fact:

Comair is currently upgrading 51 pilots. We are hiring like crazy and management keeps reminding us that we get an extra 500 bucks for every pilot we get.

Heard Trans States ins't doing so well. Need a job? I will split the money with you.

My Uncle's brothers son, who heard it from this guy while drinking at the bar, that you are a tool.

So answer me this Einstein, if Comair is getting the shaft like your rumor says why are they having a class of 12 every Monday?

I believe that Comair's cost structure and assets are probably far more attractive than most other regionals right now. We have been trimming costs at an exponential rate and quite a few of the leases on our 50s were reworked under the BK.

I think it is fair to say that nobodys 50s are attractive to anyone right now. Nobody wants them given the current market.

Because most airlines will hire all the way up to the day they furlough.

p.s. I think Comair just MIGHT be okay through all this......They are a good airline but I just wouldnt take the risk and get hired there right now. Skywest and ASA are still cheaper with better ontime performance then Comair so growth looks a little bleak right now.

Comair is getting the Mesa flying? Go figure, PDT/PSA/RAH/Pinnacle/Mesaba/ASA/SKywest etc etc are getting it too? Amazing how that works!

No one here knows... MGT will do what MGT wants to do!

Delta management has said there will be 600 regional aircraft after the merger. Thats exactly how many you get if take all the airplanes operated by Delta and Northwest regionals and you subtract out the number of airplanes currently operated by Comair, ExpressJet, and Mesa.

Exactly correct ....

Delta, owner and master of Comair, has requested/expects that Comair be able to train and hire 50 newhires a month, at least, through the end of the year.
This is with no new aircraft or new flying announced. The push is from Delta Management, not "right sizing" from Comair's puppet managers.
Training department just hired more instructors, not replacements, and there is talk of needing more simulator time at other locations.

At least for today, Comair stands to be a player in post merger Delta.

Wow rumors of Comair losing it all. What else is new. Here's a thought - no one is safe in this industry. Act accordingly.

Why would you screw up a perfectly retarded thread with realistic thought?
