 I got my congratulation letter on Sept 27, I called them last week and spoke to someone in recruiting, they told me about the backround check with tsa, now I am a U.S resident not acitizen quite as yet,how long does this backround check take?I did my interview on Sept.22 its about amonth now. The guy at recruiting told me next classes are next year Jan & Feb. I want also to find out how long the reserve is? Upgrade I understand 5-10 years thats O.k with me . Could some body shed some Light here, tanx.

As far as the TSA check, I've known people who had it completed in 2 weeks, and others that have taken 2 months.. Seems to be no consistency with them..

I've been on reserve since I came on line in May. I'll probably be on reserve another 6-12 months. My schedules have never been horrible, and as a commuter I get home quite a bit. I'm currently able to hold entire weekends off.

Congratulations!!

I'm in the process of doing the background check now. I did it once back in July and the whole process took about 2 weeks, back when it was dealt with by the DOJ.

So far it's been good- preliminary approval came in 1 day. I hate to say it, but the TSA has been fairly efficient. Even got some prompt, helpful advice when I called the other day. The real pain in the ass is dealing with local civil servants and trying to find a place that will fingerprint me! Have fun with that

Hey Chperplt, would you rather stay on reserve or hold a CD line. As far as I'm concerned those things were invented by the devil himself! You can always tell who just came off a high speed when you see them coming off the bus looking like zombies. I guess you could get used to them after a couple of months but man.

Dgarro, getting off reserve is based on seniority which is based on growth, which there is none at Comair at the moment. Wait a little while and it might change, have to see what happens to Momma Delta.

Cheers

I'll take a CD line when I can get one... but I bet it'll be a couple years before I can get one.

Yeah, I guess it works for commuters, but every time I do one, I have to take a big nap the next day and then I get nothing done. But if you want it, try to bid for it. You could lose your weekends, but you may get it sooner than you think....so I've heard.

GO SOX!!!!!!!!!

I bid for them every month... Never get one.

I can deal with being a walking zombie for 3 days when I'm home so much.
