There have been a quite a few threads on this recently. You can either scroll back or do a search and find most of the information you're looking for.

Like it was said there is a lot of Info on Colgan on here. All of those questions pretty much depend on the base. If you are based anywhere but HEF (at least on the Beech) then you will not be on reserve at all. There are no Beech lines out of HEF but every other base you will get a hard line right out of IOE. Some bases have 5 on 2 off and others have 4 on 4 off. Don't know too much about the Saab bases. If you look you will see that it is not the most popular company.

Are they still pft?

One of the interview questions will probably be..."Instead of paying down your monstrous debt from flight school how would you feel about giving us $4000.00 so you can work here?"

Multiply that figure by 5 and you're in the ballpark.

Colgan is no longer PFT for the Beech. Minimums are 1500TT.

With 2000 hours, you can do so much better than Colgan. People who start at Colgan with 2000 hours either are starting as a Captain or can't go anywhere else.

Unless you're in your 50s... think bigger and better!

I agree with chperplt. Unless you live in one of Colgan bases and want to stay near home don't waste your time. With your flight time, you should be able to get a job flying an RJ, or at least a better company. Things seem to be turning around-keep firing out those resumes.

I agree, somewhat, with both above. It depends on ME turbine time also. Plus, it depends on your intentions.

First, no union, no rights at Colgan. You will get screwed from time to time. However, if you're looking for a place to get hours, and upgraded to PIC quickly, it's hard to find a place to do it quicker. PIC in the 1900, or SAAB, is more valuable on your resume than FO on RJ.

Yet, most RJ places will pay better 2nd year as FO than 2nd year Capt at Colg. In the long run, QOL will be better there.

As far as interviewing, don't know much about it. What I have heard from recent hires is to know most recent aircraft systems, Jepps plates, and other typical technical questions.

Colgan IS a good place to build time quickly and upgrade faster than most other places.. Just keep your eyes open if you go..

Hey B.. Where did your other post go?? I'll calm the negativity somewhat..
