Colgan Airlines Pay Scale

Does anyone here know the pay scale for Colgan Airlines or any small commuters?

They pay scales go up to yr 15 but I'm too lazy to type it. 75 hr garauntee every month. Per diem is 1.35/hr but only get it on over nights. Very few overnights scheduled. Like 2 system wide. And those are only once a week. So you wont be seeing much per diem. And right now they are only hiring PFT thru Tabb Express and RAA down in Deland.

He got that info from the airline itself... Generally when you work there, you are given that type of information.

Call the RAA or TAB and write them a check for $25,000. 18K for the program, and then have them send me the other 7K, and you too could have a job flying the beautiful Beechcraft 1900 superlinner.

Now after uniform expense and taxes are taken out, you'll be lucky to take home $500 every two weeks for the first year, but you'll be a sh!t hot airline pilot.

I kinda have a problem with the PFT though. They're able to make more money from the PFT students and that's why they're not hiring from off the street.

I see, spend 20,000 entrance fee to work your way up to Beech 1900 captain at Colgan after 3 to 7 years as an FO. Then you get to make a lateral transfer over to another regional, making the bottom of the seniority list again. Makes sense to me.

The sad thing is that Colgan is probaly the best paying BE1900 operator in the industry (121 Passenger)

Hmmmm... If you only consider hourly wage, you're probably right.

However, I think you'll find that Commutair, for one, actually stuffs more money in your pocket every month. I can't say for 100% certain, but Colgan does NOT include medical insurance gratis, and Commutair DOES. If you spread that cost out over the month, it's worth about two bucks an hour... And that's your difference right there.

Commutair has far more overnights, as well, so you'll actually get per diem. Mo' money there, too.

While I'm certain that few if any at Colgan actually don't make guarantee, the guarantee is noticeably higher at Commutair, too. Roughly 82 or 83hrs/mo (guarantee of 76hrs/bid period, 13 bid periods/year).

Dare I suggest that the morale and QOL at Commutair is higher than at Colgan? I can only SUGGEST this, of course, but I know quite a number of people at Commutair who are happy to be there. The only person I know who's left at Colgan is trying desperately to leave.

And... You don't have to fork over the cost of a new car to get the job at Commutair, you just have to get hired.

Getting over gaurantee depends on the base. Some bases the pay credit is around 105-110 hrs with around 95 hrs flight. Other bases you are lucky to see 45 hrs of flight. It would be nice if they didnt outstation base the crews though. Get some of that per diem money rollin in.

Yeah as far as the money goes its like everything else we have the nice hourly wage, but then we miss out on other money like per diem. So all and all in the end every Beech operator probably takes home right around the same at the end of the month. But yeah those uniforms are mad exspensive. Took like 6 months to pay those things off with the payroll deduct. And for the money they cost they sure dont hold up all that well either.

Don't forget to add that here at Colgan, we have to fight for our money. Over guarantee is never paid properly, and you have to fight with the CPs office to get paid in full..
