Don't look now, but perhaps the #1 pilot complaint is going to be no more! Colgan Air is putting its pilot roster on the CASS system.

That was pretty dumm to put a restricted page on a public forum. Use your brain next time.

It is pretty dumm to have a private page meant for your employees hanging out in the breeze, without any password protection.

It's been like that for three years.

On a positive note, thank God Colgan finally got a significantly more competent relative to redo their public Web site. The previous one was done in FrontPage 98 or something.

Actually, there is a password protection. But you can also bookmark it and open it w/out entering the password the next time you use it.

The Jumpseat Coordinator at Colgan is a real stand up guy. He's been the one front and center on this issue. You guys are very luck to have him.

A password is not required. All you have to do is enter the web address. No protection at all. Its good to know people can just jump on the page and look at things like company memos and schedules and conference call minutes. There is no privacy protection at all. The login page is a joke.

From that new website: Colgan Air provides world class customer service to its passengers and offers exciting opportunities for employment.

How do you provide world class service with a beechcraft 1900 D model? "World Class Service" How do you do that with a saab 340 turboprop with no APU out on the ramp in LGA @ 92F in the middle of july? Did they steal that line off the virgin atlantic website and just throw the colgan name in front of it? It is a nice looking website though! Props for that.

Wow,your observant. What would expect an airline to say "welcome aboard, we can loose your luggage, delay your flights and by the way here is a bag of chips?" Its all about marketing. Thanks for putting the airline down. Why don't you go and fly your little cessna 150.

YUP........ Your right about that, the world class service can only be found on the 50 seat lawn dart's, Good call man props are SOOOOOOO.... Different

Good news for Colgan but does not help anyone else. Their planes are always weight restricted so there is never a possiblity of a jumpseat.

Yeah, I see your point. Who does have world class service anymore right? But I just thought the phrase was a little over the top i guess. It jumped out at me. But when i read that line I am thinking about A340's with the sleeper seats and what not. Hot towels. Maxjet. That kind of thing.

Thank you, gentlemen, for putting Colgan in their place. I know that the place has its faults and is a puny, pathetic company with weight-restricted aircraft, a not-so-secure website, and non-world-class service. But they've got pilots who are trying to make a difference for the company, management who are related (God help us that there is a family-run company in todays corporate world), and ownership who love to eat. At least they aren't taking money from the pilots because we didn't make money last year. At least they're not offering an upgrade from the Beech to the Saab for a pay-cut. At least they're not taking mainline jobs. Much of the flying is Essential Air Service that no one wants to fly anyhow. The rest of it is true "regional" service. I was just looking at the bright side of things. You should try it sometime. I won't bash your airline (except for the two who deserve it), so don't bash this one (unless you've been there and know what you're talking about). I'm sure you folks would just love to see Colgan get RJs and start undercutting your business, but I believe that they have found a niche and are content with sticking to that... If it's alright with you.

On the bright side of things, and off topic: I recently left there after 3 years. The last couple years i noticed i no longer cared to play my CD's real loud in my car. I used to like to crank loud Smashing Pumpkins, RUSH, Creed, and what not. It just bothered me to have it loud the last few years. Even Jim Rome on the AM dial.....some of the tones would get to me. I had figured it was just because i was getting older. Now that I am out of the props i notice I can play the stuff loud again. I swear it was noise fatigue from the planes. Then when you got out of the plane for the numerous swaps at LGA you would hear APUs (ERJ's are horrible), fuel trucks, baggage loaders, dominoes falling,..... all that stuff added up. Once my alias gets out of the penalty box, i'll be back to posting stuff about cowboys, shooting from the hip, and mouths fuel of chew. Saddle up..

Dr. Feelgood,

Why such a bare avatar leading many to believe your not a graduate of Colgan. My apologies regarding the 150 comment. If I knew you flew here then I would have given you more credit/respect. My bad....

Bare avatar? Your's isn't much more revealing. "Bra" will be back tomorrow. He chose to put a choice "wedding crashers" quote on his signature and got banned 2 days.

I couldn't ever justify spending a grand on a headset, but I had a decent pair of ANRs and it made a HUGE difference when I was on the mighty Beech.

I tried one my FO had once. It didn't really blow me away. If i had one I still would have ended up putting in the ear plugs. Ear plugs worked well, they just made my ears sore after a while.

That's on every memo. In fact, I think that's on the Letterhead.
