The Aircraft Commander of the W.W.II B-17 "Memphis Belle" passed away yesterday in Asheville, NC. I feel fortunate to have met him. A true WWII hero. I am a truly a lucky guy to get to fly the B-17 on regular basis and get a first hand experience of just a little of what it must have been like to fly on those missions over Europe.
