Ladies and gentleman of COEX, I have a few questions about reserve at COEX. I know we all hate reserve but some airlines have much better reserve agreements than others, I am interested to see how COEX agreement rates.

What are the minimum days off on reserve?
What is the max time scheduling is allowed to assign airport standby?
What is the callout time to report to the airport while on reserve?
What are the on-call periods, while on reserve?
What is the pay for scheduled deadheads?

Thanks

Dude ...send me a P.M. I know more about reserve here than any human could possible want to know...And it ain't that bad...And I know ain't ain't a word...

Sweet what does mine say??

The following answers all pertain to Contract '97. However, we are currently in contract negotiations and from what our NC has told us, reserve has been significantly improved under our new contract. Things like a Long Call of 12 hours (must return the phone call within 2 hours) as well as a Will Fly/No Preference selection were negotiated. Plus a predictable call-out system (versus our current BS system). I also believe that we will now receive 150% as add pay plus the day restored if we have our day off rolled by scheduling.

What are the minimum days off on reserve?

11.

What is the max time scheduling is allowed to assign airport standby?

5 hours.

What is the callout time to report to the airport while on reserve?

2 hours.

What are the on-call periods, while on reserve?

We have 5 periods but I don't remember them exactly.

What is the pay for scheduled deadheads?

100% for ALL deadheads, scheduled or unscheduled.

Hope this helps.

Sam

Don't forget about the 10 year upgrade times at this "no-growth" forever-regional airline.

Dude try playing with your left hand more often. It's a far better hobby then one you've shown all of us over the last week. See the Paris Hilton thread if you're still confused...

bf - it would be cool if you would quite turning every coex post into an arguement..it's getting pretty old. I am however, interested to know how you predict the future so well.?.

phone availability periods:

300-1800

600-2100

1000-0100

1700-1000

(honestly, those last two may be wrong, i'm only junior enough to know for sure 3 a.m.!)

the left? is that the hand that you'll be working the throttles with forever as a COEX FO?

Funny I'm pretty sure there ain't any throttles from my seat. They are called thrust levers in a jet, but what would you know since the closest you've come to a jet was being shown the door by the evil John Dresser. Keep 'em coming man, you're entertaining if nothing else...

Thank you for those that posted replies, I defiantly do appreciate the information and it will help me make a decision in the near future.

Ben why don't you go outside and play hide and go F^%$ yourself.

BigDave -
I presume you've asked about reserve at ExJet because you're interested in working here. After seeing your above response the massive tool who calls him/herself Ben Franklin, I can see that you would fit right in with the rest of us here!

Roughly how many reserve lines are there in EWR currently and about how many conversion lines are there about? Thanks

last month there were 24 conversion lines and a total of (before they actually built conversion lines) 74 reserve lines...there were also 205 regular lines..this is all for dec

hope this helps!

I hope it's under 5 years :) I just started my 4th and I'm still on reserve (as an FO)

Just curious what is the junior base. Where do you see the new hires going when the doors open

Some likely will be split between CLE and IAH but majority probably will see EWR for a while. Good luck.

:D
