Give it a month or two, and more regional flying will be up for bid with Delta or NW, and messa will be sure not to lose that one.

The race to the bottom keeps going

FWIW, CHQ's 50 seat payrates are higher than both Mesa and TSA...the airlines that were favored to win this RFP (at least on these boards).

Wow, what a slap in the face this is to ExpressJet. Sorry to hear that guys.

Congratulations to the Chautauqua pilots. You're welcome in my jumpseat and in our crewrooms.

The other shoe is yet to drop on this one folks. I don't see this as a race to the bottom. No XJT pilot has been asked to take concessions. CAL low-balled their offer to us and we said no. (They asked us to do it at cost, our management didn't want to eek out a profit from their employees. CHQ was able to sign a deal. They may be leasing back the aircraft from us, heck, we may buy their airline. (Probably not.)

I'll make one prediction: Don't look to see CHQ using the 69 airframes to do the flying.

Someone please kick me in the effing NUTS!

I say this with love, brother: get a pair first. A lot of you Chicken Little types need to stop your whining and remember you fly for the very best "regional" airline out there. I'm not just saying that. I work with a variety of operations in the Safety Systems and Human Factors area. I spend a lot of time with a bunch of different pilots, and I can tell you this: I'll put the men and women of XJT up against any pilot group out there. Training, ability, culture, you name it, we kick ass.

What kind of industry do you think this is? Certainly not for the faint of heart. There are plenty of good piloting jobs out there. Network, train, and get qualified to go do something else if the worst case scenario occurs. In the meantime enjoy your job, and don't let the desperate machinations of bloated little fat-face bean-counters like Larry Kellner ruin your attitude.

I don't like it either, but I'll be damned if I'll let chance, fate or some airline executive ruin my good time. I'll ride this Express Jet horse with a smile on my face until it throws me off.

My Lord that was funny for some reason...:smash:

I want to be the first one to appologize on behalf of ********************ty management. I don't want to fly a Continental paint job any more than you want us to. Keep in mind the pilot group did not ask for this. Sorry guys.

Nothing to apologize for Brother. Just business. It's CAL's flying, not yours or mine.

I work for CHQ and I didn't even hear a rumor about this. Either I don't pay enough attention to the rumor mills, or Bedford and Co. can keep their lips as tight as....you get the idea.

I could not agree with your posts more...I have a friend that works for Expressjet (non pilot) and his take on this is your take on this. It makes sense. I agree with him when he says Expressjet will come out on top...
