rstev1955, TangoIndiaMike,
Was just wondering, I had to decline an interview in Jan. because of a prior commitment, and called today to put myself back in the mix. How long did it take you guys to get your call?
rstev1955,
Good luck with the interview, just to give you a heads up, I GUARANTEE one of the questions you will get during your interview is, "Looking at your experience, WHY ON EARTH, would you want to come to ExpressJet?" Had an F/A-18 guy in my interview get asked, also heard another B-52 driver got the same question, so think of something good, good luck!
Yeah, I got a similiar question, but it's not a big deal. I think it comes down to whether or not you're really enthusiastic about coming to Express Jet, and does that desire show. I would imagine they're just making sure they don't have someone on their hands who's view of how the working environment will be is skewed.
I'm as excited as heck to be going to XJET. I cannot wait to fly with a different bunch of pilots and pick their brains for knowledge, techniques and skills I can use. They might get to learn something in the process too. Ego really doesn't enter into it. I just love to fly and get to share the experience with others. It doesn't matter how many Atlantic crossings, powerline patrols, BFM hops, student sign-off's or river visuals into DCA you've done. Or whether or not you've done ANY of those things. The simple fact is EVERYBODY brings something to the table and the more variety you have in the cockpit experience wise, the more fun and safe things are. Somebody asked me informally about what it would be like having a Captain who's 24 year's old with less total time than I had. It would be cool. Somebody that young who's progessed as quickly as they have certainly has something on the ball, and I've got things to learn from that person.
I'm looking forward to the Embraer also. While I'll miss the Lear's performance, the 135/145's appear to be a really neat airplane, with a comfortable cockpit and a fairly high level of automation available.
Good luck on your interview. Everyone I've come into contact with has impressed me. Fun process. Flight times on the left for those of you keeping score. Seems like everyone I've met was way above minimums, but I understand that's starting to trend down.
Aviationinterviews.com guys and gals........Don't lie or be cocky in your interview, they can smell it 100 miles away. Follow the on-line directions to the "t". Good Luck
Howdy, I'm another April 12th'er! Completed the phone interview on 2/12. About 1900 Total/700 Multi with some Part 121. I am serioulsy torn, however between upgrading in my current turboprop within the next 4 months or a long stint as a Jet FO. I have alot of pondering and agonizing to do before and after the interview.
