If you're willing to move to Salt Lake, you'll probably get the 99. If you're willing to move to San Juan, then expect the 1900 (SA227 possible too). If you have over 1200 TT plus the multi requirements stated above, then you're competitive. Just be prepared to work hard in training.

You'll discuss it during the interview. When you are offered a class date, that's when you will know what plane. As far as times go, they're all over the place. They need 99 pilots pretty bad, so then the min's go down. Now is a good time to get on board.

Slc Be-99

Besides applying from their website, is there any way to speed up the hiring process, as in contacting the SLC cheif pilot? I am very interested in SLC. If anyone can provide any further contact info via PM I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You kindly

Anyone know the deal with the Brasilias? Bases and if they hire street captains? What are the skeds like these days??

Thanks, Baja.

BE 99s how low will they go?

So how desperate are they for BE99 captains. I currently have 78 hours of twin a plenty of TT to qualify. Would it make sense to pay for or work at a flight school to get my total twin time up to 180 or above to step into a BE99? Or would I be wiser to apply right now for a PA31 spot?

I interviewed this morning in PDX for a PA31 position and will be in ground school next week. The ACP who interviewed me said that sometimes they will pull guys from ground school for the PA31 and offer them a BE99 slot. I also am under the impression that if you are willing to be mobile, you can get a BE99 upgrade from the PA31 well inside of a year. I'd rather start flying IFR 135 now instead of building time as a MEI with the hope of getting on a street Beech captain.

Find out what the current guys have before buying time to make minimums. Usually no one gets hires with the bare mins unless you know someone or it's a pay for training kind of place.

Good luck.

Anyone know info on the Brasilia??

Baja.

Baja,

In my interview I asked about the Brasilia. It sounds like they don't hire street captains for it, instead they hire internal turbine guys, usually upgrades from the Brasilia FO. The ACP told me the minimum turbine / total times for it, but I didn't write it down because it was well beyond my 1318 TT.
