Is it a problem coming back from Mexico if one of your pax has succumbed to Montezuma's revenge?

When you sign the Gen Dec you are declairing that all of your pax are healthy and free from diseases.

Be very careful with this, we've been getting some recent info at my airline about inbound flights with ill pax...Customs and the CDC are getting serious about it. I cannot find the reg right now, but it is a federal law that an aircraft commander notify both customs and the CDC of the death or illness of anyone on board the inbound aircraft. The whole communicable diesease issue is huge, both for the pax and the captain of the flight.

I remember, see this month's (March 2008) AIN magazine, I think they have an article about it.

It turned out OK. We cleared at BRO and the inspector was pretty cool about it. I was up front and asked if the pax could stay on the aircraft. He agreed but gave the pax special attention and went through all the bags in the cabin.
