Hello All

Just got a 2007 CJ3 and wanted to find out some info from the people that have been flying it. I have been flying the CJ1 for the past two years and the boss finally decided to upgrade.

Fuel burns 1 2 3 hours and so on
Good climb profile based on speed
True airspeeds typically up at 450

And anyother ifo you have be able to provided would be greatly appreciated.

Here is some info a CJ3 operator passed on to me recently...

Here are some speed / fuel profiles for HSC.

FL450 - 410 TAS/ 780 pph
FL410 - 415 TAS/ 850 pph
FL350 - 415 TAS/ 1100 pph
FL310 - 420 TAS/ 1400 pph

As you can see, it's a very efficient machine. The 2+ will typically cruise in the high 30's, where I cruise the CJ3 in the 40's most of the time. I plan 1200 lbs for the 1st hour and 900 lbs after that.

Don't know how it relates to a CJ3, but I had a 2+ operator tell me he uses 230kts to .58M in the climb...if we used those speeds in the old II we'd NEVER get to altitude ;)

I can't wait for our 2+ to get here...

Well, coming from the CJ1 the 3 is going to really spoil you! Those number look pretty darn close. I really love the CJ3!

BoilerUp, one question? Why does he operate his 2+ in the high 30s? The 2+ performs very similar to the 3 (only two feet shorter cabin).Anything over an hour and we usually go on up to the 40s with the 2+ and 3.

Perhaps my post was a little confusing...

The info I posted (quoted) was from a CJ3 pilot with only a little time in a 2+...perhaps he simply wasn't familiar enough with the performance and capabilities of the 2+? I've heard from more than one pilot that the CJ3 at least seems to have much more power than even the 2+...

The 2+ operator that said he flew 230kts to .58M has told me anything over 300nm he goes into the low 40s...also told me the 2+ would do FL430 in about 25 minutes at MGTOW as long as temps weren't ISA+10 or more.

I look forward to validating those numbers for myself!

If you have access to the performance book that came with the plane, the numbers are spot on (if not a bit conservative). The other numbers posted look pretty close. You'll love the plane!
