It is getting to be that time of year again with the winter ops. I wanted to get some tips some do's and donts as far as operating the CJ in winter Ops. I have been flying the airplane for the past few months and I love it CJ1. But with the winter coming just wanted to start talking about it, and getting a better handle on it.

Thanks in Advance

Turn the wing Anti-ice off after landing.... If not you will be explaining why the leading edges have a nice new ripple to them.

Get the windscreans heated up, BEFORE you are on a half mile final and encounter moderate Icing. Not much fun trying to land an airplane with no vis.

Other than that...enjoy!

Heat em up and get the lights out while you're holding short if you're taking off into icing conditions. You can leave the bleeds off until you get in the air and turn em on before punching into the soup if there's no precip. I've had some guys say hit manual on the tail at the marker, just to make sure you got everything. That inflates both sides simultaneously.

Plan on step climbing to altitude with the wings on. There is no performance in the winter with everything on. Remember 160, you see that a lot in winter.
