Citation X alternative

Mission profile, owner’s preference, DOC’s & acquisition cost say Citation X but owner would like a plane with just a little more capability to get to Hawaii. With that in mind are their obvious choices? FYI – future owner’s client has Citation X and goes to Hawaii a couple of times a year but you guys/gals will know the tradeoffs.

What about a G-150? They make Hawaii easily. Not sure on the DOC and other particulars.

CL 300, Horizon, falcon 50.... some possibilities. not sure on availability of first 2.

No problem making hawaii from anywhere on the west coast excluding KSEA. Only problems are pressurization etp's with winds 75kts plus. It's a non issue if you plan LRC at .82 or .86, depending on winds. I go out and back regularly and I am very conservative with the planning. Just don't let anybody tell you that you can do it at HSC.

Sounds like a show stopper ... if your boss is impatient I look at the formentioned airframes.

I agree with Fishhunter. The CX is more than capable of making Hawaii from the West Coast including KSEA and Vancouver provided you run .83-.86. Even a plane with a single O2 bottle can carry 6 passengers to Maui under most conditions. Don't let anyone tell you differently. If you have questions contact the demonstration department of Cessna. Cessna has a responsibility to represent the true capabilities of the aircraft.

You should ask some NetJet pilots what their mins are going to HI. I see their X's over there all the time.

AA flies there everyday out of DFW, he can save that Citation X money and buy alot of first-class cabin tickets and leave the plane at the gate when he gets off it
