Is there a bus protection panel (CB, fuse, relays) that senses and kicks off the Freon AC system at high altitudes thus preventing motor/compressor burnout? It's hard to believe that this system is not fail safe and will just allow the motor to burnout in case the Crew overlooks the AC switch on climb. Inputs please.

I am pretty sure there is NO protection on the V, but there might be on the Ultra/Encore. I can't find my manuals. It is on the FL180 checklist though.

There is a cutoff switch to the compressor of some kind on the Ultras and subsequent, but not on the V.

Huh, we have a 17,500 switch straight V that auto shuts the comp off. Before you can even do the the 18 checks you hear it cut out.

Don't know about the V, but the II does not have a cutout.

Part of the "transition" checklist.

Of course, we never fail to do that. :)
