I just won a scholarship for a type rating. It's gonna be at Flight Crew Systems in two months. I don't have much time in multi turbines, just a few turboprop hours and lots of single turboprops. I have installed lots of avionics in the Citation series.

FCS is sending me a POH for the aircraft and told me to learn the systems.

Any pointers on vidoes, CDs, software, books, etc? The King videos were not usuable, and I don't want to pay for another sleep therapy kit.

I don't want to be intimidated by this aircraft,
but I don't want to be humiliated either.

I only get 3.5 hours in the thing before the checkride.

Your scholarship?

I know nothing about the CE-500's, but I think it's great you won that scholarship. Can you tell us about it? What was the scholarship for and how did you win it? Inquiring mimes want to know.

And maybe you could report back to us (afterwards) about your experiences at FCS. There are probably many of us reading this board that would like to hear about it.

Good luck and have fun.

Nolly used to produce a two tape systems review for the CE500. They had a website. You might want to check for it. I have used their tapes for the Lear and the B727. Mostly light and switch, but it is a good way to learn the systems.

good luck

Quote: Your scholarship?

It was a private one-shot affair for our college. The parents had just lost their daughter so offered a scholarship for another pilot.

Go to Women In Aviation for more scholarships, a guy won one a couple of years ago, and I think a guy won one last year, too. They have all sorts of 'em with a November deadline. AOPA has a good list, so does EAA, and a few other places. AA's pilot mentor program website (www.aapilots.com) has a good listing.
Good Luck!

For anyone that knows, how close are the systems in a P337 to the systems in the Citation?

I know they are jet engines instead of pistons, but what about pressurization, deicing, avionics, brakes, hydraulics, and so on?

?

I am an FCS alumni.

You will enjoy the training and the instructors. I got my type in the CE-500 at the end of February 2003.

PM me and if you have any questions about the training.

Don't worry about it. I'm typed in Citations, and believe me....they are CESSNA jets. Piece of cake. Have fun!
