First of all, I'd like to extend a wish for a happy holiday season for all of my fellow pilots tonight. No matter where you are, on a trip in a crummy hotel room, sitting reserve alone in some crash pad, serving the military in the desert, furloughed and working the night shift at some filler job, or at home with loved ones, here's a hope that next Christmas Eve you'll be where you want to be with who you want to be with.

I'm curious to know (as I sit here alone in an office, bored at my non-flying reserve job) what you were doing at this time last year and what you're doing tonight.

Just thought a little conversation might make the night go a little faster. Even though I'm not very religous, I think I might go see if there is a Christmas service at the base chapel tonight. Regardless of your beliefs, I encourage everyone to get out tonight, if you can, and enjoy yourself.

So, what's everyone doing tonight?

I'll be the first to say that last Christmas I never thought I'd be spending this one in Philly! The nicer thing about this year is that I have my family (brother/sister) with me. The cooking that I'm doing tonight in preparation for tomorrow is the same though. ;)

Even though we're not even Christian, we're going to Church tonight to join in the celebration. It feels right to include the spiritual part of the holiday we celebrate each year.

Wherever you are, have a wonderful holiday everyone! Enjoy the presents, the eggnogg, the family fights ;), and if you can, take in a stray pilot or two, and make them part of your family for the day.

*hugs to all*

this X-mas ain't any different from the ones past

ate a lot, drank a lot, yelled a lot, about to go sleep a lot

peace on earth, love yer children, etc. etc. blah blah blah

oh, yea, gonna try to "hit that" a lot too

This time last year I was just starting my drive from Portland, ME to Las Vegas, NV. Two cars and a wife that doesn't drive very well made a 3 1/2 day drive in the 7 day drive from HE!!.

This year I'm sitting in my beautiful house with a nice view of the Las Vegas strip.

Merry Christmas to all those that celebrate, and to the ones like myself that don't... Enjoy the Chinese food and the movie you'll go see tomorrow.

Last christmas was flying to LGA and it was snowing hard. Got over Dupont VOR and had to hold then had to go back to the departure airport because LGA closed for the night. Felt kinda bad for diverting on Christmas eve with almost a full plane.

This Christmas...flying into LGA again no snow so we got everyone to Santa this year. Except now in new base so got to spend Christmas night in a bar gettin in the "spirt(s)"

Last Christmas barely even existed. Me, laid off for the 3rd time in 2 years, no money and battling depression. The wife, not happy with where we were living. It really kind of sucked.

This year was tons better. Good paying job, change of residence (for the wife;) ), and me feeling much better about life in general.

Life is good (at least for now),
