Just off the news wire...

Chautauqua is getting another 58 jets to operate under US Airways. It is my understanding that some of these jets are to be used for J4J under a CHQ "alter-ego." Any views or enlightenment on this?

Not quite...

Last I heard, we *might* get an additional 8 or 9 jets for Airways, provided that they emerge from Chapter 11, which still seems sketchy at this point. Furthermore, the balance of the jets would go to a "Republic Airways" alter-ego that would accept the provisions of Jets for Jobs. Pretty fishy. Sounds a lot like Freedom Air. Hopefully I won't manage to get whipsawed and furloughed, though I missed my last chance just barely...

Strikefinder is correct. Official comms from Bedford. Majority of planes will go to a "new airline" (Republic) because, in Bedford's words,

"...Chautauqua cannot comply with the j4j requirements..."

CHQ cannot comply with j4j because the pilots did not ratify it

"New airline" planes to be staffed 100% by U furloughs. This is confirmed by U-Alpa reports.

Republic is a mirror image of Freedom. Almost identical, in fact.
