So, when are the CHQ E170s going to be starting up? Anyone know which hub they will be flying from initially? I flew on a MidAtlantic E170 a few weeks back and I was really impressed - great flight deck and very spacious in the back.

That all depends on how the seniority integration goes.

All RP crews are pilots on the CHQ seniority list. That's what pilots got in exchange for not getting the Comair + everybody bitches about.

Last I heard was the 170s are supposed to be IND based, doing IAD flying. Evidently the 170 sim in PIT is backed up with MDA crews, so I think some "newhire" CAs & FOs have had their indoc and/or sim pushed back a couple weeks. Gawd knows when the Big Beef Burrito Jet its actually supposed to hit the line though; I think I heard October sometime...

Just an educated WAG, if there is such a thing...If I'm wrong about any of this, I'm sure countless folks will kindly correct me:rolleyes:

All EMB-170 flying done by Republic Airlines will be by Chautauqua pilots on the same seniority list.

No integration issues, period.

October is what I heard as well. Like BoilerUP said, some classes are backed up right now due to very few sim slots available. US Airways is doing the training in Montreal for us.

Does CHQ hire into the left seat? If not...how long to upgrade. Looks like you guys are getting lots of airplanes...thats why I ask.

Thanks.

not unless Shuttle America has something to say about it. . . the announcement was postponed so wait for the upcoming one when it is been agreed upon by the three hunchos.

So when do you stop flying for Delta Connection? You're breaking thier scope clause.

You guys are like Dogs after a cat always trying to lay claim to jets allocated to CHQ.

I believe that is for ASA/Comair. CHQ can operate Unlimited 70 seaters for another airline. Republic Airlines will be operating the E170 longterm anyways.

The ERJ-170 has 72 seats...

18 rows of 2x2.
The plane was recertified for 72 so it would not count against slotted operations at DCA and other airports.

I thought the weights of the E170 were over DL's limit on "permitted aircraft types." Also, I was under the impression US Air guys were coming over to fly them, which was why ALPA wasn't making an issue about it. However, I have not followed the issue - can someone answer these questions?

Thanks,

The E170's are being flown for UAL, I believe only 25% will be J4J, the rest are new hires. Why we still continue to hire 30 a month with all of our partners in a less then enviable position though is something I don't know. Wish we knew what went on behind the scenes....sigh...

Not violating any scopes. That is the WHOLE REASON we have Republic Airlines, is to get around that stuff. It will be a separate certificate, once it finally gets completed. The E-170 is only for United Express flying.

No street Captains. They are all CHQ guys. F/Os are coming off the street, some of which are UA furloughs.

The current F/Os on the E-145 are seat locked.

I thought the reason for Republic was so you couldn't get rates better than Comair. I guess somebody got fooled.

Pay is the same so who cares.

It's just smart business. They have exercized add'l options on the 170, and this pattern will continue in my judgement. If UAIR or UAL somehow go off the radar(which I doubt), then RJET will have other suitors in line. If all else fails, look for RJET to pull a Flyi.

Anyone know who has control over the RJ's if AMR or DL pulls the plug? I know DL would get the CRJ's if they discontinue SKYW flying. Hope the same is true on the 145 series.

DCI permitted 70 seaters have a matow of 85k, the E-170 comes in at just over 82K, but it is certified for over 70 seats, so it is not a "permitted" aircraft. DAL would not be in violation of the DAL PWA if it still retained CHQ as a DCI partner as long as the CHQ E170s are only configured with 70 or less seats and they are not used to fly DAL code.
