First off you have to know that no one knows the real answers to your questions.

That said the company has looked at the Dash 8 Q-400, CRJ 700, various Embrarer RJs, and the Saab 2000. As far as I know the only aircraft we have ever been close to getting besides the Saab 2000 is the CRJ 700. It is my understanding the company wants to have a 70 seat aircraft and right now the CRJ 700 fits the bill (I think we were even close to getting them early in 2003 but it wasn't to be), it just costs too many bills right now. Maybe the Saab 2000 for now, a 70 jet a little later.

Anything will mean more money, more seniority, more job security.

Who knows, it is pointless to speculate too much.
