I just heard on the news that ATA is closing there regional airline Chicago express. 664 people will loose there jobs. That really blows!!!

Dear XXXXX XXXX,

ATA's financial performance is falling far short of what was projected. It is leaving ATA in a very critical situation with the SWA DIP financing contract.

As a result, the plans to increase IND flying have now changed. Due to the $49 fares that NWA is offering, ATA is unable to compete in a market that was already in the red prior to NWA stepping in. As a result the IND flying will be reduced to just 4 flights a day in April

Chicago Express will be sold, with service ceasing the beginning of March. The MEC will be meeting with Management tomorrow afternoon. We will keep you updated as we learn more. Jacki Pritchett
ATA MEC President

It's just gonna get better folks, in 5 years we'll all be in a Chinese car built by the ' PRC Socialist Workers Group', named something like the:
MAO 1 LX, that we bought for a coupla grand, new, and that uses cockroaches and cat-poop for fuel.

Our new ride won't be flown over on UPS FedEx or DHL, they'll be making the journey, along with 5 cent t-shirts, rubber barf and tons of Ramen Noodles, in a now beaten to hell Boeing Dreamliner held together with chickenwire, bird spit and palm-fronds, operated by.......wait for it....the: PRC Socialist Workers Group.

Extrapolate the possible ' Big Picture' from the above and discuss amongs yourselves.

Sorry Windy City and everyone else struggling right now.

The news says that flying has reached pre 9/11 levels, yet airfares are cheaper than buying gold fish in a bag at walmart.

I'd druther that airlines charged three times as much and shrank, than gave it away for free.
