OK, first post here... I hope it isn't bad. Anyways, I'm trying to get a feel for everything, and Chicago Ex looks great. I've always had a thing for them, probably something to do with sitting under the approach path to MDW at my aunts house when i was younger, even though they were not around back then. But out of the 1300+hours ive got, about 50 are multi. I am currently a CFI with no plans ($$) to upgrade to CFII or MEI. What does it look like out there? I have done research on this board and others, and they seem stable now, with upgrades happening hopefully. Always a promising aspect! Am I a prospect for them or anyone? Any info would be appreciated. This forum is great too, I hope this isnt a bad first post :)

I don't know muck about Chag Exp. but you may want to try dropping the resume off face to face with the CP in MDW. that may help.

About the CFII - in these times you need the most you can get, the CFII will give you alot of bang for the buck. I think if your current you could do it for 500 or so.

60 for written
a few hours w/ CFII friend at say 80$/hr (plane and pilot) =240
200 for examiner

500 bucks and you've got a whole new student base plus your inst. sharp which is a big part of getting the first 121 job.

I know it's easier said than done, most of us have been there also.

Try talking with FlyChicaga (sp) he landed a gig with them with less hours.

Good Luck

It's all in your attitude

I flew for C8 back in the Jetstream days. A lot has changed, but I've noticed one thing that hasn't ... they hire pilots with good attitudes. I know numerous pilots that were hired there with less time than you have, even in competitive times like now. If I were you, I put on a shirt and tie and walk my resume into their office. Tell them why you want to work there, and even offer to work in another capacity (ramper etc. ) until they have a class.

I would also work on the CFII and MEI ... they can only help your chances.
