There once was a place called "Venture Hobbies" up near the Palwaukee airport. Probably in Palatine, if not, somewhere near there. This place was the ultimate models/RC stuff. If they are still there and you need stuff, I highly recommend taking the trip up.

For some reason I remember going to a model airplane shop at O'Hare..this was probably about 10 or so years ago. Anyone have a clue of what I am talking about?

And Venture is still up and runnin'...I haven't been there since I was a kid but I remember that was the place to be if that's your thing.

The ORD store is still in business beneath the Hilton on the way out to the underground train stop and has a pretty good selection of airline models, both wood and plastic.

Prices are steep (40+ for plastic, 200+ for the wood models).

Many a long break between flights have been spent wandering through the models and aviation memorabilia...
