The point being, aside from the normal checklist used on EVERY flight, using a checklist with your V-speeds and how to execute each maneuver during a PTS exam is not good form.
Most orals (before one gets in the plane) will test the applicants rote knowledge of the V speeds. It shouldn't be something one is refering to throughout the flight portion. Remember, most of the V-speeds are on the airspeed arc anyway, with the exception of say gear and Va speeds for instance. Nor should one need to refer to a checklist to perform the maneuvers. If a student of mine had ever required such a crutch, he wasn't getting signed off. Chances are you've performed a manuever so many times that it should be ingrained in your memory. It's what being ready for a checkride is all about.
