I just had a student do a checkride. Needless to say he never made it through the oral. All of the info that we went over the day before, he pulled out his shovel and dug a hole too deep.
First things first. Ride was scheduled for 0900. He showed up at 0830 and said " I have a few questions about the cross country planning!" He never took the time the night before to plan out the route, doo all the numbers, get the projected weather info...no weight and balance, nothing. I should have told nim to go home and do it again another day.

Rember airspace limitations on sectional
VFR cloud clearence
required equipment
and everyother thing you have studied.

Sometimes could smack'em upside the head right?
Sometimes I lose my marbles just a little bit and tell them: Look I have a license already I don't need to study(at least not for now:rolleyes: ) YOU DO!!!
But everybody brain farts every now and then, 2 days ago a student missed the airport on the way back on the checkride....
no matter how long your doing this everytime they pull something on you never done before..LOL
