Does anyone really know how check 21 is affecting us freight dogs, if at all. Also does anyone have any Idea how or when or if it might start to affect us. My loads have not been getting anysmaller. I am just starting to consider whether I am going to stay or go to a regional. I really want to stay due to the QOL and pay, but job security is really important to me. Not that theres any at the regionals. Some body help me out here.

I don't think that anyone REALLY knows how it will influence us. I don't think that it comes to effect until October (From what I've heard). Just keep increasing and satisfying the express customers!

YO $$$ you need to start flyin slower or start throwin my checks out your window so I can start writin checks without worrin about them turning rubber and bouncin like a super ball. But like you said I dont think there is any job security in aviation at all. When does that Check 21 stuff actually start. Don't the banks have to do it old school style for a while longer? Plus aren't you guys gonna carry monkeys and what not?

The August issue of Consumer Reports has a one page article that explains what Check 21 will mean to the average consumer. It is the easiest to understand of any article I've read, although it doesn't really help with predicting what will happen with the freight dogs in October.

From what I've seen/heard/read, the Fed doesn't have the capability to implement Check 21, and it won't for a long time, so I think that all our jobs are safe for at least 5 more years. Also, we all transport more than just checks for the banks, and until they go electronic on all their mail, loan paperwork, etc., I doubt we really need to worry until we start to see the loads actually decrease -- then it's time to start looking elsewhere.

Of course if the monkey loads start to increase, then we should have no problem....though we'd have to be sure that they didn't know how to operate the net latches because then they'd take our jobs!!:D
