CHEAP RIDE FROM SLI to LAX?

Anybody know of a way to get from Los Alamitos to LA International inexpensively? I want to go to the AirInc conference without the hassle of landing at LAX (Cross Country flight). I'm already shelling out big $ for the conference and room. Would rather avoid big rental car or cab fees. Appreciate any advice someone may have.

Cheap mass transit doesn't exist

I think you're just gonna have to suck up another $50 for a rental/cab fare/airport van/additional fuel to fly to Santa Monica/Hawthorne/Torrance.

To try the buses would be an all day expedition.

There's the MetroRail thingy that goes down the 105 (?)...I haven't lived in SoCal for almost 10 years now...but you know, you gotta drive to the frickin station anyway...so why not just keep going and avoid the sweaty huddled masses on the train?

Zamperini, Hawthorne and Santa Monica don't have military contract fuel and they charge $50 a night to park (at Hawthorne, anyway). I think I may have convinced some other dudes to go in on a rental with me. The AirInc conference is Apr 11-13.

Cheapy cheapy

Cab it, or bus it to the Metro Rail Green Line station at the intersection of the 605-105 fwys. and it's like $3.50 Roundtrip to LAX only 10 min up the freeway from SLI. Quite easy and quick. I used to fly out of SLI. Great airport!
P.S. There aren't any sweaty masses, it's usually not too crowded unless it's rush hour.
