Positively astounding. I cannot believe what I just looked at. Its almost as bad as an ad at an FBO once. A kid had put up one of those flyers with the cut strips at the bottom with his phone number. "I'll fly for free and for experience only". Don't these f'ng idiots know what they're doing to the rest of us?
 
I tried to bid, but Ebay doesn't accept negative numbers for bids.
 
Not that I'm defending this guy...trust me I'm not, but you can certainly obtain a type without an ATP. The paragraph below is from the following FAA PDF file link: faa.gov/library/manuals/.../8700/volume2/media/2_009_00.pdf

3. GENERAL.
[FONT=Times New Roman,Times New Roman]An aircraft type rating may be added to a private pilot, commercial pilot, or ATP certificate. However, type rating practical tests are conducted to a single standard for all certificate levels. Regardless of the grade of certificate held, an applicant must meet the standards for a type rating in the Airline Transport Pilot and/or Type Rating Practical Test Standards (PTS).
