Does anybody know of any cheap hotels near the airport at HNL? My family and I are connecting with a flight in the morning, so we just need someplace to crash. Any suggestions?

Cheap - HNL - same sentence - hahahahahahahahaha!

Okay - i've picked myself off the floor -

Here are the only 2 hotels worth considering near HNL.

Just to be clear - they are both merely "okay" on their best days - you have been warned.

Whatever you do - DO NOT go to the Pacific Marina Inn - I won't even post their link here. That place is a rat hole of drug dealers and hookers.

The other two above aren't all that much better. The airport area sucks - it's an industrial area with very little to do, very little eating selections, lots of crime. Not a good area at all to walk around with a family at all.

I don't know how long your layover is but unless you are dealing with a min-rest overnight I would take the time to get away from the airport.

Thank you very much... that helps a lot! I figured the airport area wouldn't be very nice. There used to be a hotel (Waikiki Tower maybe?) that gave us 50/night, but I'm sure that's long gone by now. We just need a place to sleep for 10 hours until we catch a flight in the morning to Kona.
