Chautauqua Class

Anyone here have a class date or in class now with Chautauqua. I got hired and was told that I was in the Sept 13th class. I was offered the Aug 19th but had to delay. I have nothing in writing about it yet. I am concerned about putting in my notice til i recieve it. Anyone with me on Sept 13th? Thanks

Who told you that? The 170 class was the one that started the 6th of august. I was told by Rosa that the Sept 13th would be the 145.

There was a 170 class that began last Friday (8/6). Rosa dropped another one in this Friday (8/13). Supposed to be 12 people in class this Friday, and about 100 pilots hired through the end of October.

And yes, seniority means the same thing at CHQ that it means everywhere else.

Friend of mine got hired in the last couple of days. He was told to expect a class this Friday. Supposed to be 170 class from the rumors.

Same thing i am hearing today. The classes that start this week are the 170s and the sept 13th class is a 135/140/145. Which i am very happy about!

There is no real benefit to being on the 170 vs. the 145, Freudian desires to fly a bigger airplane notwithstanding. Pay is the same and the only base for the 170 is IND (which isn't so bad, IMO). OTOH, you should have decent seniority on the 170 once the program gets rollin'.

Well for me i want CMH as a base and i think flying the 170 there wont be too many routes... etc. And i hear they will end up opening a base at IAD. I really dont wanna be based at Dulles

Take the 170

Absolutely absurd, it will matter a great deal, and personally I would take the 170 over the 145 series, as an F.O. on the 145’s I am not allowed to move to the right seat in the 170 from here, so if you get offered and take the 170 you will be towards the top, if not at the top of a rapidly growing 170 F.O. list, Get Me???

Way better sch. weekends off, etc....
